Grinnell, Iowa

Stan McIlrath began his auction career in 1979 after graduating from Reisch Worldwide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa. He immediately began conducting auctions of all types, with a passion for farm and livestock auctions. In 1980, Stan attended the Livestock Auction Seminar at the South St. Paul Stockyards in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the manager of Grinnell Livestock Exchange where he also performed some auction duties. When the sale barn closed due to the property being sold to Hy-Vee, Stan was hired as the auctioneer at the Baxter Sale Barn.  Stan now conducts farm machinery, real estate, and estate auctions.

Stan really enjoys the personal communication he has with buyers and sellers alike. He has built his business on the RESPECT of the community, HONESTY, INTEGRITY and the REFERRALS of past clients. The McIlrath reputation is very important to him.  He has worked hard to earn a good one and equally hard to uphold it. His goal is simple, to provide professional auction services, to the satisfaction of all involved.

Each year Stan donates a considerable amount of time to various organizations such as the Poweshiek County Pheasants Forever, Poweshiek County Ducks Unlimited, Montezuma FFA, Poweshiek County 4-H, etc.
